Add xaddr.com to your browser toolbar

To make it quick and easy to create short web urls for any web page you are viewing, add the xaddr.com bookmarklet to your browser toolbar. It's easy to do.

1 Click and hold the link below:

2 Drag it to your Links toolbar (Internet Explorer) or Bookmarks toolbar (Firefox).

If Internet Explorer doesn't allow you to drag and drop the link, right-click it and select Add to Favorites, then expand Favorites and select Links. Ignore the warning that the favorite may not be safe: it's just because it uses JavaScript.

3 If you want to be really cool you can change the toolbar icon.
  • Right-click this link and choose Save Target As...
  • Save the icon somewhere convenient, and note the location
  • Right-click xaddr this! and using the Properties window change the icon to the file you just saved
4 To use it, just open the page whose address you want to shorten and click on the xaddr this! link in your toolbar. ss
